About ECRA
Who we are, what drives us, and where we are heading.
Who We Are
A bridge between two of the world's leading robotics regions.
The Europe–China Robotics Association (ECRA) is an international, non-profit platform dedicated to strengthening cooperation between the European and Chinese robotics ecosystems. As the authorized European cooperation platform of the China Robot Association, ECRA connects companies, research institutions, universities, investors and public stakeholders across both regions.
We are not a traditional industry association. ECRA operates as a collaboration platform and ecosystem builder — organizing flagship events, facilitating business matching, supporting market access in both directions and providing trusted guidance on standards, compliance and funding.
Mission
Our mission is to build a sustainable Europe–China robotics ecosystem by enabling open dialogue, practical business cooperation and joint innovation between European and Chinese stakeholders.
- Facilitate industrial cooperation and technology exchange
- Support companies entering new markets in both directions
- Promote responsible innovation, standards alignment and compliance
- Develop talent and long-term partnerships across borders
Vision
To become the leading bridge organization for robotics cooperation between Europe and China — a trusted, neutral platform where industry, research and capital meet to shape the future of intelligent machines.
President's Message
Robotics is entering a golden decade. Europe brings deep engineering excellence and a strong industrial base; China brings unmatched scale, speed and manufacturing capability. The opportunities created by connecting these two ecosystems are extraordinary.
ECRA was founded to turn this potential into concrete cooperation — real projects, real partnerships and real value for our members. I warmly invite you to join us in building the Europe–China robotics ecosystem.
President, Europe–China Robotics Association
Organization
ECRA is governed by a General Assembly of members, an elected Board and an executive Secretariat. Professional Communities (expert committees) drive the association's technical agenda, each co-chaired by one European and one Chinese expert under our dual-leadership principle.
- General Assembly — the supreme decision-making body of all members
- Board — strategic direction and oversight
- Secretariat — daily operations, member services and events
- Professional Communities — expert committees for key technology domains
Dual Leadership
Every ECRA committee and major program is led jointly by a European chair and a Chinese chair. This dual-leadership model guarantees balanced perspectives, mutual trust and genuine two-way cooperation — it is the foundation of how ECRA works.
Roadmap
- Phase 1 — Foundation: establish the association, core communities and first flagship events
- Phase 2 — Growth: expand membership, launch the robotics competition and structured services
- Phase 3 — Ecosystem: scale into the leading Europe–China robotics platform with permanent programs, joint projects and international partnerships
